What is Microchanneling?
How Microchanneling works?
If you are considering a treatment to improve the texture, tone, and elasticity of your skin Procell Microchanneling is a perfect solution for you. This procedure is suitable for all skin types and is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment. Procell’s Microchanneling device uses filaments made from surgical-grade steel, small enough to fit into a hair follicle. This TGA-registered mechanized stamper creates thousands of tiny, clean controlled skin injuries called "Microchannels. These channels are designed to deliver beneficial ingredients, such as peptides, growth factors, and cytokines directly into the deeper layers of the skin. This process also stimulates collagen production, resulting in skin that is smoother, firmer, and more youthful in appearance while minimizing damage to the epidermis for faster recovery.
Before & After
FAQs
-
Microchanneling is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that helps improve the appearance of:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Hyperpigmentation and sun damage
Acne scars and stretch marks
Rosacea and uneven skin tone
Hair thinning and hair loss
This treatment works by stimulating natural collagen production, resulting in smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.
-
Microchanneling may cause mild discomfort during the treatment, but it is generally well tolerated.
There is no lingering pain after the procedure, and we use comfort-focused techniques to minimize sensitivity and ensure a relaxing experience. -
No, microchanneling does not cause scarring.
In fact, it is specifically designed to improve the appearance of existing scars, including acne scars and stretch marks, by promoting healthy skin regeneration. -
Microchanneling has minimal downtime.
Most clients can apply makeup, sunscreen, and skincare products within 90 minutes after treatment and return to normal daily activities the same day. -
After a microchanneling treatment, your skin may appear:
Slightly pink to moderately red (similar to a mild sunburn)
Occasionally a deeper flush, depending on treatment intensity
This typically resolves within 4 to 72 hours, revealing fresher, revitalized skin.
-
Many clients notice visible skin improvement within 24 hours, including enhanced glow and texture.
For best results:
2–3 treatments: Improved skin tone, texture, and collagen production
6+ treatments: More significant improvement in wrinkles, scarring, and skin laxity
For hair regrowth, early signs may appear within 2 weeks, with more noticeable results around 5 weeks.
-
Microchanneling may not be suitable if you have:
A compromised immune system
Active chemotherapy or radiation treatment
Pregnancy or nursing
Uncontrolled diabetes
Allergy to stainless steel
Chronic inflammatory skin conditions
Recent Accutane use (within 2 years)
Bleeding disorders such as hemophilia
-
Yes, microchanneling can be safely combined with other treatments for enhanced results.
Common combinations include:
Before treatment: Microdermabrasion, or enzyme peel (with proper skin preparation)
After treatment: LED light therapy to support healing and boost results
These combinations help maximize collagen stimulation, skin renewal, and overall treatment effectiveness.
Pre Treatment
Instructions
If you get cold sores regularly, taking acyclovir or valcyclovir starting one day prior to your microchanneling will reduce the likelihood of a breakout due to your treatment
Discontinue retinol (2% or higher) or Tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.
For your first treatment, (treatments at .25mm in general) numbing cream is typically not necessary, and you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation for between 4-24 hours.
Later treatments with longer needle lengths may require topical numbing cream, and can produce redness and swelling along with tiny flecks of redness for between 4-72 hours.
If your liver, kidneys and immune system are healthy, taking an NSAID such as ibuprofen 2 hours before treatment may reduce any discomfort.
If you are being treated for hair loss, please arrive at the office with the shortest haircut possible and clean hair. Please do not apply sprays or gels.
If possible, please arrive at the spa without makeup on, and with a clean (and for men a clean shaven) face.
If you've had Botox, fillers or threads injected, you must wait at least two weeks before getting microchanneling.
Post Care
Instructions
Avoid touching the area treated with hands
Avoid applying any makeup/products for at least the first 2 hours following treatment
Your skin may feel hot and tight, like a mild sunburn. Moisturize often, and you may apply a cool damp wash-cloth as desired.
Trans Epidermal Water Loss is a common temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry through the first week. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply as frequently as necessary to avoid a dry sensation. The more you moisturize the better your results will be.
Avoid exposure to pet dander and other irritants as best you can. You may experience a mild allergic reaction to pets and other things you typically do not react to within the first 24 hours.
Beginning the following morning; apply Infuse and StemFactor MD growth factor serum to enhance results. (Cleanse and apply 1-2 pumps) Apply daily, morning and evening. Follow with recommended moisturizer.
Avoid sun exposure and/or tanning beds for at least 30 days. Apply SPF of 30 or higher for at least 30 days after treatment.
