What is Microchanneling?

If you are considering a treatment to improve the texture, tone, and elasticity of your skin Procell Microchanneling is a perfect solution for you. This procedure is suitable for all skin types and is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment.

Procell’s Microchanneling device uses filaments made from surgical-grade steel, small enough to fit into a hair follicle. This TGA-registered mechanized stamper creates thousands of tiny, clean controlled skin injuries called "Microchannels. These channels are designed to deliver beneficial ingredients, such as peptides, growth factors, and cytokines directly into the deeper layers of the skin.  This process also stimulates collagen production, resulting in skin that is smoother, firmer, and more youthful in appearance while minimizing damage to the epidermis for faster recovery.

How Does Procell Therapies Microchanneling Stimulate Cellular Activity?

A single Procell treatment creates hundreds of thousands of microchannels. In response to each micro-injury, an inflammatory healing process begins which initiates the formation of new collagen. Over time the repeated healing process begins which initiates the formation of new collagen. The repeated healing process improves the surface texture and overall appearance of the skin.

Procell Microchannelling is a unique well-researched treatment for skin rejuvenation with numerous benefits including:

  • Stimulating the production of Collagen, Tightening the skin

  • Improves the appearance of Fine Lines & Wrinkles

  • Reduces the appearance of Crow’s Feet, Lip Lines, Forehead Lines & Frown Lines

Is microchanneling painful?

Most customers report mild to moderate discomfort. You will feel a pin prick sensation, especially over the forehead, cheekbones, eyes, and lips. Topical numbing cream can also be applied to the treatment area before the procedure to ensure comfort.

What will my skin feel and look like after the treatment?

When needling is complete the treated skin may feel hot and tight. After the treatment, skin turns red, fades within the first hour or so, and resolves within 24 hours.

What do I need to do after a Microchanneling treatment?
1. If you are given a mask, keep it on for at least 15-30 mins.
2. Preferably, no other products are applied for 6-8 hours.
3. Avoid exposure to pet dander and other irritants as best you can. You may experience a mild allergic reaction to pets and other things you typically do not react to within the first 24 hours.
4. Your skin may feel hot and tight, like a mild sunburn.
5. For your first treatment, (and treatments at .25mm in general) you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation for between 4-24 hours. Treatments with longer needle lengths may produce redness and swelling, along with tiny flecks of redness for between 4-72 hours.
6. Trans-Epidermal Water Loss is a common temporary side effect and could leave you feeling dry throughout the first week. Keep the recommended moisturizer with you during the day and apply as frequently as necessary to avoid dryness.
7. After 24-48 hours post-procedure: apply the Procell Cellular Renewal Serum and Healing Accelerator for the best results. Cleanse first and apply 1-3 pumps each. Apply daily, morning and night.
In addition:
● For the first 120 mins, don’t touch the face, don’t put anything else on (besides the mask), and avoid sun exposure.
● After 6-8 hours, you can apply a mild moisturizer.
● Avoid sweating for the first 24 hours (No gym, sauna, swimming, spicy food, exercise)
● No Retin-A, Retinol, vitamin C, BHA, AHA, or exfoliation for 5-7 days

How many treatments will I need and how often?

The number of Procell Therapies Microchanneling treatments depends on the individual's skin condition. Typically for Skin Rejuvenation treatments ( Fine Lines, Wrinkles, Tightening, Crows Feet, etc.) 3-4 Treatments are required with each treatment done every 4 weeks. Scarring & Acne Scarring may require a minimum of 6 treatments with each treatment every 3-4 weeks and Stretch Marks may take 6-8 treatments with each treatment done every 4-6 weeks for optimal results. One could continue this series indefinitely and experience both corrective and anti-aging benefits.

How quickly will I see results?

Results are usually visible after the second treatment.

How does the MD Serum with stem cells and cytokines work?

Procell creates a biological interaction between damaged cells and healing cytokines. Our bone marrow contains mesenchymal stem cells. These contain DNA hardware to work towards wound healing, fighting disease, and rejuvenating skin. The cells excrete proteins called cytokines, which are like little packages of information.

When the microchannelling creates a small injury in the skin, stem cells report to the area (or, in this case, are applied to the treatment area) to heal. Cell receptors in the injured area connect with the healthy cytokine into the damaged cells. Let the healing begin!

Microchanneling
vs
Microneedling

What is the difference between Procell Therapies Microchanneling and Microneedling?

Procell Therapies Microchanneling is often described as Microneedling Evolved. The stem cell-derived growth factors that maximize results distinguish the Procell treatment compared to the traditional delivery serums used for Microneedling which are mainly Hyaluronic Acid, Brightening Serums and Salicylic acid which may not be as effective.

Procell Therapies Microchanneling also uses a stamping technique, less damaging than any traditional Microneedling techniques.  During the treatment, very small tips penetrate the upper layers of the skin (epidermis), creating small, micro-injuries. The "micro-injuries" are created by "stamping" vertically to create clean micro-channels instead of dragging or gliding across the skin. As a result no scratching or tearing of the skin occurs.

Procell microchanneling tips are 100% reliable, because each tip has a fixed depth.  Microneedling devices with adjustable depths are not always accurate. (Different conditions need difference depths of treatment.) Procell also has three treatment diametersfor optimised treatment coverage - 12 Filaments, 25 Filaments and 49 Filaments and are suitable for both the face and body whilst traditional Microneedling Devices only have one tip diameter of 12 needles.
